Not Too Shabby Jewelry Display!

There are some very creative things you can do with an old cabinet door and some old door knobs. This is one of my favorite "DIY" Do It Yourself projects this month and one very hot item when it comes to ladies who want a charming vintage piece to hang thier favorite jewelry on!

All you need is an old cabinet door or board, good glue and a little paint. I use a white paint color called Snowbound by Sherwin Williams as the base color and then I add a light glaze to the whole piece to give it that old stained look. I like to use Tea Stained Glaze by Ralph Lauren for the glaze. I typically go hunting at old home supply stores, trade days, silent auctions and estate sales for the old door knob pieces so it creates an original old home look.

So once you've got your cabinet piece or board painted how you like, just grab some good glue so you can attach your door knobs and door key plates.

PhotobucketYou can easily make one of these jewelry displays yourself if you just take some time to do some bargain hunting, painting and glueing.

Just to the right is the finished product! My jewelry loves its new home!

Not too shabby....

Well, we finally got everythng set up in the Sisters Antique Mall and Team Room!
https://sites.google.com/site/sistersdk/

Heather and I are only in our early 30's but we LOVE anything timeless and old! The new mall opened up in June 2011 and literally within two weeks all 40 boths were filled up and now there is a waiting list! We got the very last one right next to the tea room.

We had to sacrifice some extra wall space but with our creativity we made it happen! Besides if I ever heard anything coming out of the Business Marketing program at Texas A&M it was... Location, Location, Location!

Seriously, if you like antique and girly girl shopping don't miss this place in Saginaw right off Main Street! 128 N Saginaw Blvd (Main Street) to be exact! The Tea Room has amazing entrees and OMG the Cake Balls are worth the mini trip! Grab some peach or raspberry iced tea and get your porch sittin antique store vintage groove on!
